5 Top Three-Wheeler Brands In India: November’22

Bajaj Auto and Piaggio top the list in the month.
As automotive sales continue to stay in top gear, the last-mile vehicle segment-three-wheeler, known as auto-rickshaw also shines in the month. The overall three-wheeler segment registered a solid 80% growth year on year, touching a volume of 74,473 units in the month.
Both the cargo and passenger carrier segments recorded strong growth driven by robust demand from rural and urban India. The passenger carrier auto-rickshaw segment grew by a massive 74% with a volume of 30,617 units, and the goods carrier segment retail sale volume of 8,021 units was up by 20%.
According to FADA, “The 3W segment showed a massive growth of 80% YoY and 4% when compared to 2019, a pre-covid year. The category which was witnessing low demand during covid has now emerged as the highest growing category due to positive sentiments and fear of lockdowns out of mind. Also, electrification in the category continues at its highest pace.”

1) BAJAJ AUTO
The top slot is retained by Bajaj Auto holding 36% market share in the overall segment with a total retail volume of 26,652 units in the month that include the popular Compact RE, Maxima Z, Maxima C, and Maxima X Wide.
The predominantly strong in the cargo carrier segment, Piaggio is the second largest player with a volume of 5,364 units translating into 7% market share in the month as demand for its top Ape branded 3W including Ape City, Ape Xtra LDX, and Ape E-City, Ape E Xtra stays high.
In the electric three-wheeler maker, YC Electric recorded a sale of 3,067 units in the month which gives the brand a 4% market share in the month. The company continues to find new buyers for its battery-operated full-electric three-wheeler range that includes Yatri Super, Yatri Deluxe, and E-Loader, among others.
Another top three-wheeler brand ranking number 4 is Mahindra which has retailed a total of 2,484 three-wheelers in the month taking a market share of 3% in the overall auto-rickshaw segment. The Alfa and Alfa Plus are the top vehicle models the company retails in the market
5) SAERA ELECTRIC AUTO
Another full-electric battery-operated vehicle maker Saera Electric Auto which retails under the brand Mayuri ranked number 5th with a total sale of 2,089 units, taking a 3% market share in the overall segment.
