Tata Motors launches new Ace SCV Models

Three new Ace products introduced - Ace Mega XL, Ace XL and Ace Zip XL

India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors today expanded its Ace small commercial vehicle (SCV) range with the launch of three new products. They are the Ace Mega XL, Ace XL and Ace Zip XL. While the Ace Mega XL and Ace XL are priced at Rs 4.78 lakh and Rs 4.23 lakh respectively, at Rs 3.08 lakh the Ace Zip XL is the least expensive of the three (all prices, ex-showroom Mumbai).

Tata Ace Mega XL

It is powered by a 798cc, 2-cylinder diesel engine that generates 40PS of power and 100Nm of torque. Thanks to a 5-speed manual transmission, the SCV can hit a top speed of 80kmph. In terms of dimensions, the Ace Mega XL has a ground clearance of 175mm, minimum turning radius of 4.88 metres, a 30-litre fuel tank and comes with 14-inch wheels. Its 8.2 ft long loading deck can carry a maximum payload of 1,000kg. As far as features are concerned, it comes with power steering and front disc brakes. It is currently available in two colour options - Urban Bronze and Porcelain White.

Tata Ace XL

The Ace XL gets a 702cc, 2-cylinder engine that produces 16PS of power and 39Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 4-speed manual transmission and the duo helps the SCV reach a top speed of 60kmph. Like the Ace Mega XL, the Ace XL comes with an 8.2 ft long loading deck. However, because of the smaller engine, the maximum load capacity is clocked at 710kg. Compared to its predecessor, there is an increase in load body length from 2,140mm to 2,520mm and the wheelbase has been extended to 2,250mm. The Tata Ace XL comes with front disc brakes, a 30-litre fuel tank and 12-inch wheels. The mid-ranger is available is two colour options.Tata Ace Zip XL
The most affordable of the three new launches comes with a 611cc, single-cylinder engine that pumps out 12.47PS of power and 38Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Tata Motors claims that climbing flyovers and hilly areas with full load will be considerably easier with this improved product. The company has given the Ace Zip XL an increase in load body length from the current 1,685mm to 1,927mm and a broader loading deck area of 6.3 ft x 4.9 ft. Other dimensions include a 10-litre fuel tank, 12-inch wheels and 150mm of ground clearance. The Ace Zip XL is available in five colours - Arctic White, Icy Blue, Neon Rush, Sunrise Orange & Ruby Red.

All three vehicles are BS-IV compliant and are offered with standard warranty of 2 years or 72,000km, whichever is earlier.
